What can I do with my night rating?
A night rating allows a pilot to fly under Visual Flight Rules in the hours of darkness.
What are the pre-course requirements?
You must hold at minimum a UK PPL (A) with a Class 2 Medical.
What is involved in the course?
Theoretical Knowledge Instruction
1 Hour Ground Training - Group Seminar, 6th October 1800 to 2000.
Flight Training
3 hours of dual instruction
1 hour of solo circuits
1 hour of cross country navigation of at-least 27nm
How much does a night rating cost?
We have two affordable Night Rating Packages below. The prices are based on our Cessna 152 and include insurance, headset hire and all landing and circuit fees.

We aim to do all our training between 1600 and 1800 to avoid extra airport fee’s. If you would like to train after 1800 there will be an additional cost.
Cessna Night Rating Package - £1425
5 hours Flight Training (Including briefings and de-briefings)
2 hours of ground school with Instructor (Including sim)
Seminar - 6th October between 1800 and 2000! Contact ops to book.
Pay as you Fly Prices
2 hour’s ground school (Including sim) - £70
Cessna 152 & Cessna 172 - £290
Piper PA28-161 & PA28-181 - £340
DA40 - £390
Instructor Only (Own Aircraft) - £120 - 2 Hours with instructor.
This is charged from blocks off to blocks on and includes a 30 minute briefing and de-briefing.
What are the additional costs if I fly between 1800 and 1900?
First we must let the airport know on the day by 1200L that we intend to operate after 1800. Otherwise the aerodrome might close at 1800L.
Touch and go and landing Fee (Monday to Friday) - £15
Touch and go and landing Fee (Weekends and Bank Holidays) - £25
We highly recommend getting booked in early to make sure you complete your flying within the normal airfield operating hours.
