Our Simulator…
Flight Simulator Training at SEMET Aviation
What would you like to practice or review?
Our simulator provides a safe, time-efficient, and environmentally friendly way to enhance your General Aviation flying. It offers the opportunity to develop flying skills and airmanship in a non-jeopardy, supportive training environment, without the constraints of weather or aircraft availability.
Whether you’re practising RNP approaches into Shoreham, preparing for a PPL Skills Test, or refining your instrument and navigation techniques, the simulator helps you build confidence, accuracy, and readiness for real-world flying.
What’s included in every session?
A briefing with your instructor before the session (instructor-led bookings)
Access to our club room facilities
Complimentary tea, coffee and refreshments
Use of charts, checklists, flight planning facilities and more
Pricing
Simulator with Instructor – £99 per hour
Simulator Only (self-fly hire) – £45 per hour

Single Engine, Complex and Multi Engine
The SEMET simulator can be configured to replicate three aircraft categories: Single Engine, Single Engine Complex, and Multi Engine. Each configuration uses detailed aerodynamic and systems modelling to ensure flight behaviour closely matches real-world aircraft performance and handling characteristics.
The simulator is equipped with force feedback flight controls and wrap-around visual displays. The system reproduces the effects of trim and aerodynamic changes, providing realistic control forces and responses throughout the flight envelope.
This setup delivers an accurate and immersive training environment suitable for both initial and recurrent flight training, allowing pilots to practise handling, procedures, and emergency scenarios in a controlled, repeatable setting.
Visual Flying
Our simulator is designed to provide a highly immersive environment for practising VFR (Visual Flight Rules) flying skills. With wrap-around visuals and high-quality, geo-referenced scenery, pilots can accurately practise manoeuvres such as steep turns, stalls, and navigation exercises.
The visual fidelity allows clear identification of landmarks, airspace boundaries, and terrain features, making it ideal for practising VFR navigation, joining unfamiliar airfields, and improving situational awareness in a realistic setting.
Instrument Flying
The simulator is fitted with Garmin G5 displays, a GTN650, and a GTN750, giving full RNAV capability with an up-to-date worldwide navigation database. This setup lets pilots use the same avionics they’ll find in many modern aircraft and practise real-world GPS navigation and procedures.
It also supports the fundamentals — you can track NDBs, fly holds, and practise both procedural and precision approaches. The system allows you to run through a variety of technical faults to develop strong failure management and decision-making skills.
With realistic control forces and accurate flight modelling, you can safely fly approaches to minimums and sharpen your instrument flying skills without ever leaving the ground.
Scenario Based Exercises
Working with industry experts, SEMET Aviation has introduced Scenario-Based Exercises (SBE) to General Aviation. These sessions are designed to develop key pilot attributes such as situational awareness, technical knowledge, and workload management, using realistic and practical scenarios.
The aim of each Scenario-Based Exercises (SBE) session or course is to strengthen safety culture within the GA community. By flying structured scenarios and discussing decisions afterwards, pilots can share experiences, refine their skills, and build greater confidence — ultimately becoming safer, more capable aviators.
