What can I do with my PPL?
The PPL will allow the holder to act as Pilot in Command in non-commercial operations on single engine piston aeroplanes under 5,700kgs.
Fly during daylight hours in visibility greater than 3km remaining in sight of the surface at all times.
Carry passengers without payment. Sharing aircraft costs and expenses is allowed.
Receive remuneration for flight instruction up to PPL level subject to further training and qualifications.
What are the pre course requirements?
What does the PPL course involve?
The CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) mandate a certain minimum requirements in order to obtain a PPL. These include:
45 Hours flight training
25 dual (with an instructor)
10 solo
10 solo/dual
1 cross country navigation flight (150NM) including full stop landings at two aerodromes different to the departure aerodrome.
9 Ground theoretical exams with ground school
Skills test pass (at the end!)
Minimum ages to consider
14 to start logging your flights
16 to fly solo
17 to achieve your licence
Class 2 Medical (this is required before first solo)

How much does a PPL cost?
On average a PPL will cost between £11,000 and £15,000 depending on a number of factors.
The most popular and affordable aircraft is the Cessna 152.
Can I pay for my PPL in blocks of hours?
Absolutely, we offer the ability to pay for your flight training in 15 hour blocks. These prices include headset hire, Blackbushe landing and circuit fees and all briefings and de briefings. Block hours must be flown within 12 months of purchase.

Can I pay for training per hour?
Below is our dual training member rate. This includes the aircraft, instructor, landing and circuit fees, headset hire and all briefings and de briefings.

A Student membership is required for all PPL training. The Student membership is £15 per month.
I am already training elsewhere. What are my options?
It’s actually quite easy to change training school. Please see our informative document for more information.
Can I do a trial lesson?
We would recommend completing a trial lesson prior to starting your flight training. The trial lesson will count towards your PPL training and will give you a taste of what flight training involves. Prices start from £119.

Student membership is not included and is payable separately. Student membership is £15 pcm.
If you require more flight training on top of our packages this will be charged at our ‘Pay as you go’ dual training rate.
Changing aircraft is allowed however the difference in price per hour will be charged.
Flight Training will be completed out of Blackbushe unless agreed separately.
Refunds will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. We will always endeavor to accommodate our customers where we can.
Prices for our products are subject to change without notice.
It is the students responsibility to organise training and other course requirements.
A fuel surcharge may apply.
Courses which are not completed within 12 months may be subject to further charges.
